Khalid is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 23 years experience in Consulting Engineering on a wide range of small to large civil and coastal developments.

Khalid started his career with the late John Smart, a well-known and respected Marlborough Engineer. Working with John, he gained experience in coastal developments both locally in the Marlborough Sounds and internationally in the Republic of the Maldives working on the Addu Link Road.

Khalid spent 3.5 years in the United Kingdom, working on large scale civil developments in Bristol and Glasgow such as the Kirkintilloch Link Road in Glasgow, Dundee Central Waterfront Redevelopment in Dundee and a variety of jobs for Tesco supermarkets.

Returning to New Zealand in 2008, Khalid continued his work in Marlborough, specialising in developments in the Marlborough Sounds.

Khalid’s civil experience includes subdivision design, tendering, supervision and contract management, onsite wastewater, geotechnical assessments, retaining walls, bridges, culverts, roading and associated stormwater.

Khalid’s coastal experience includes jetties, boatsheds, slipways, protection works, access tracks and building site development.

Khalid enjoys helping clients to realise their dreams by finding practical, economical but long-lasting solutions to their engineering problems.

Khalid is a family man with two young children but enjoys hunting and fishing when he can get time away.
